Abstract

With the advent of mobile technology, augmented reality (AR) is transitioning from the laboratory to the consumer market. On the other hand, the diversification of information communication media also provides more ways to better display products, and AR is one of them. Product presentation in an AR environment has evolved into a compelling function that enhances consumers’ impression of the product. In this article, we summarized the features of AR based product presentation based on previous work. And then, based on these features, we proposed a comparative study to figure out how users perceive the product model in the AR environment and the difference compared with the real-world product. Through this research, we will gain a deeper understanding of which product attributes can be perceived more clearly with augmented reality. The product semantic differential method was used here to build the product evaluation metrics and compare the user perception of 3 types of product presentation based on product semantic.
