It’s an excellent time to get your flu vaccine. Influenza (flu) viruses typically spread in fall and winter, with activity peaking between December and February. Getting vaccinated now can lower your chances of getting the flu. Every flu season is different, and the substantial health impacts can vary widely from season to season, with some flu seasons being worse than others. Your best defense is vaccination, which provides protection from flu and its potential complications. Stamps Health Services has launched their “I GET IT, WE GET IT” campaign to kick off the launch of their fall flu shot clinics.
“Flu viruses evolve quickly, so last year’s vaccine may not protect you from this year’s viruses,” said Dr. Ben Holton, Senior Director of Stamps Health Services. “New flu vaccines are released every year to keep up with rapidly adapting flu viruses, so it’s important to get the flu shot every year.”
