What does my status mean in the Application Status Tracker?

Incomplete

This status indicates that we have received your application, but one or more of your application requirements are missing. Here's what you can do to complete your application:

Self-Uploaded Materials: You can upload most items, like copy of official transcripts, test scores, and writing samples, using our self-service tool. Please note that test scores and transcripts uploaded this way will be marked as unofficial.

Official Submissions: To ensure items such as test scores and transcripts are considered official, they should be sent directly by the service.

The graduate application process includes requirements at both the Institute level and the Graduate Program level.

Institute-level requirements (managed by the Office of Graduate Education):

  • Transcripts, Marksheets, or Diploma Supplement: You must provide copies of officially issued documents. Check the Materials section for an up-to-date list of the academic documents received
  • English Proficiency Requirement: Test scores must be sent directly by the testing service (ETS or IELTS). If your application shows an IELTS or TOEFL score under Not Yet Received and “English satisfied by academic history/permanent resident” under Received, it means your test score was not required. You do not need to follow up; we will update your checklist accordingly.

Graduate Program-level requirements (managed separately by the graduate program):

  • Letters of Recommendation: Recommendations must be received via the online application's letter system.
  • GRE or GMAT: You may upload your GRE or GMAT test score report via the Upload Application Materials self-service tool. To be considered official, these test scores must be sent directly to us by the testing service.
Please familiarize yourself with the program-level requirements by visiting Degree Programs webpage to ensure your application will be reviewed for admission. Applications that remain incomplete after the program's application deadline may be cancelled or denied.

Under Program Review

This status indicates that you have submitted the Institute-level requirements managed by the Office of Graduate Education (see Incomplete for more information).

Important things to note about this status:

  • Decision release dates vary by program and are typically announced after the application deadline. Regularly check your email and portal for updates. Please refrain from sending emails to the Office of Graduate Education asking about your decision status.
  • If you see one or more program-level requirements listed as "Not Yet Received,” this may prevent your application from being reviewed by the program. Check the program-level requirements to make sure your application will be reviewed for admission by visiting Degree Programs webpage.

Decision Ready

This status indicates that a decision has been made on your application.

Under Institute Review

This status indicates that the program has offered you admission. Now, the Office of Graduate Education will verify and evaluate your academic credentials to ensure they comply with Institute-level policies before you can enroll as a new graduate student. You can learn more about this thorough process by checking the Glossary of Application Terms and Terms and Conditions of Admission

On-Hold: Missing Documents

This status indicates that while the program has offered you admission, the Office of Graduate Education has determined that additional academic documents are required to meet Institute-level admission requirements. Your application will remain on hold, and you cannot proceed with the admission process until these documents are received. A decision letter with instructions on how to submit the required documents will be shared via your portal.

Institute Admitted

This status indicates that the minimum academic documents required to comply with Institute graduate admissions and enrollment policies have been successfully reviewed by the Office of Graduate Education. Your application will remain under this status until your new student record is created in the Registrar's Student Information System.

Please Note: You will be eligible to enroll in classes once you have met all Institute requirements. Learn about the various requirements you need to satisfy to prevent a registration hold.

Ready to Enroll: Checklist Incomplete

This status indicates that you can register for your first semester with the academic documents you've submitted. However, you need to provide official transcripts and/or documentation of any degrees awarded to the Office of Graduate Education to continue enrolling after your first semester. Check your application checklist for the pending documents and follow these instructions.

Ready to Enroll: Checklist Complete

This status indicates that you have met all of the academic document requirements set by the Office of Graduate Education. As a newly admitted student, you must meet various Institute requirements before you can register for classes. Learn more about how to view and remove registration holds on your student account.
